Campout 2007! - May 26, 2007

Danny Hay Davis and his band will perform with special guests David Graham and Dallas, original members of one of Portland Oregon’s most “smoking” rock and roll bands “The Yanks” one night only from 7pm-11pm at M.O.R.T.’s Second Annual Wrecking Crew Campout (Campout 2007) on Saturday, August 11th at Pekin Ferry in Ridgefield WA. Opening the show at 5:30 pm is local country sensation “Holy Cow”.

The Danny Hay Davis Band was nominated for a “Muddy” award as Best New Act in 2006 by the Cascade Blues Association and are currently one of Portland’s most versatile, exciting and busy performance ensembles. Their repertoire covers blues, R&B, rock and country as well as DHD’s original works.

David Graham is a true entertainer, at the crossroads where country meet rock-n-roll you will find David. As front man and leader of the indie band “See Jane Run” in the 90’s, David has a following that crosses generations. After leaving The Yanks in 2005 he relocated to Nashville and is involved in many projects as a guitarist/front man while he develops his following in the South.

The Yanks were one of Portland’s most exciting classic rock groups from 2003-2005 fronted by David Graham, Danny Hay Davis and Jaime Mehan, propelled by their self produced CD titled “Deep Wood”. Davis’ composition “Dick Dangerous” had active radio play on over 40 stations nationally and is still a crowd favorite at DHD Band performances.

Holy Cow, fronted by Brian Earl Haines, who might be better known as electric guitarist and sometimes vocalist of the popular Northwest band MuchMore Country is currently touring with old band mate Matty Botten as well as newcomers Jeremy Alan Marshall and Chase Elliott.
Holy Cow will perform on Friday, August 10th also(time TBA).

Pekin Ferry is a private campground located about 20 minutes north of Portland on the beautiful Lewis River.

Only 150 tickets are available for this 21 and over 3 day event, with preference to past campers. Tickets are $60. Group discounts are available.

The "97211" CD Set To Release - December 15, 2005

Its done!

My “97211” is set to release January 1st, 2006, but will be available on 12/17/2005 at the Beale Street NW performance Portland Oregon.

10 original tracks ranging from smooth jazz/folk, r&b, country, swing and a little rock and roll, will take you for a relaxing ride of good time music.

From the opening track, “Johnny Ray”, with an urban/jazz/folk vibe and a lyrical story based on the first drive by shooting in Portland Oregon, to the closing track “Autumn Winds”, a relaxing instrumental, I give you a small sample of the many styles of music I write and perform.

Some of Portland’s best musicians helped me on this project, recorded at Sound Impressions Multi-Media Studio in Portland Oregon.

Gary Fountaine, the hardest working musician in P-town, nominated for a Grammy in the 80’s with the band “Nu Shooz”, for their gold selling “Poolside” record, holds down bass guitar.

Ashbolt Stewart of Bolt Upright and The Norman Sylvester Band plays drums.

Reo Vanardo, back-up vocalist for Snoop Dog and Starr Wilson of Jelly Roll sing back-up on several tracks.

Andrew Baird and Fenix Sanders play saxophone and Ronnie Hval does percussion.

MP3 versions of select tracks will be available for free download on 12/15/2005.

Thanks - October 4, 2005

I would like to thank everyone who attended the first performance of The Danny Hay Davis Band at Beale Street NW on 9/23/2005.

Remember to bring your programs from that show to the next DHD Band performance at Beale Street NW to receive your free "97211" CD.
